Based in Chesterfield, Freedom Centre Ltd is a home from home environment, encouraging and supporting adults with learning difficulties to enjoy an active life and getting out and about in their local communities.

About Us

Established in 2010 and situated close to Chesterfield town centre.

Freedom Centre Ltd believes that living with a learning disability does not have to prevent anyone from living an active and satisfying life.

That is why our dedicated team offers a range of activities for anyone over the age of 18 years who has a learning disability or a physical disability.

    In addition to providing support to people with complex needs, Freedom Centre Ltd also welcomes adults with autism spectrum disorders, dual diagnosis, and general learning & physical disabilities.
    The service supports individuals who may live at home with their families or in a supported living facility.

    Day Trips

    Getting involved in the community is essential to our service users’ well-being and ability to understand social interactions. As part of the person-centred plan, we ensure that supervised activities are offered outside the facility in Chesterfield, so the person can express his or her choice.

    Day trips can include.

    • Picnics

    • Lunches at pubs and restaurants

    • Wildlife and zoo outings

    • Using public transport

    • Visits to the beach

    Arts & Crafts

    Arts and crafts can encourage creativity in service users, and they are also used as a way of expressing themselves.

    It is essential to have good hand-eye coordination to be able to succeed in everyday activities, and it can be improved through simple activities such as:

    • Painting

    • Model making

    • Floristry

    • Mosaics

    • Cutting and gluing

    • Presentation

    • Card-making

    • Sewing

    • Drawing

    Sport & Exercise

    Several studies have shown that participation in physical activity and sport improves the quality of life and functional status of people with disabilities.

    To meet the needs of our service users, we offer both indoor and outdoor activities, which could include any of the following:

    • Walking

    • Dancing

    • Music

    • Bowling

    • Swimming

    Our services don’t stop there
    We also offer support for adults with learning difficulties through our small residential home, providing 24-hour care and assistance.
